Summary:
James Construction completely renovated the interior of Building 109 at the high security Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Naval Station Newport.
Renovations included new doors, windows, partitions, floor tile, suspended ceiling system, sprinkler and fire alarm systems and new lighting, electrical and plumbing systems. HVAC upgrades included installation of a new hot water heating system with direct digital control.
Project work included asbestos abatement and lead paint removal; construction of a new roof frame for the air handling unit; and exterior site work, grading and granite curbing.
James Construction received a NAVFAC STAR (Safety through Awards and Recognition) letter of recognition for exceptional safety scoring on the project
NAVFAC restricted the use of sensitive photos.
