James Construction installed new storm sewer system laterals within and adjacent to the secure bio-defense research facility at Fort Detrick military base.

The project consisted of the installation of four new concrete storm structures, approximately 1,600 LF of 34″ x 53″ ERCP, 500 LF of 48″ RCP, installation of security bars and lockable manhole cover, and several connections to existing storm sewer systems.

James Construction worked in close coordination with several other contractors working in and around the site, as well as with several other government agencies to resolve conflicts with existing utilities and facilitate successful project delivery.

Work included asphalt demolition, erosion and sedimentation controls, stripping and re-spreading of topsoil, and construction of a temporary access road.
