James Construction renovated the existing U.S. Courtroom on the 2nd floor of the Richard H. Poff Federal Building to serve as both Courtroom and Grand Jury Room. Adjacent spaces were remodeled to accommodate the U.S. Attorney’s Office.  Expansions were made to the U.S. Probation Office on the 4th floor.

Renovations included new partitions, new ceilings, new floor and wall finishes, wet sprinkler, HVAC, plumbing and electrical work.  New casework for wainscoting and jury rails was matched to the existing woodwork in the courtroom. Work was performed at night to avoid disruption to ongoing usage of the adjacent courtroom .

James Construction coordinated with the GSA office in Philadelphia, the architect in Fairfax and building management in Roanoke to complete the work to the satisfaction of all.
