James Construction was awarded a Design-Build contract for a new Pass and Identification Card Office Building at the main gate of Naval Station Newport.  The one-story facility was designed to blend in with other base structures. Anchored to withstand bay area hurricane force winds, it is equipped with handicap bathrooms, site lighting, parking, and a security system connected to the base Fiber Optic System.

James Construction completed this project in eight months as scheduled, including building design, site excavation, building construction, installation and connection of utilities and security systems, and site landscaping. Change orders totaling 15% of the contract consisted primarily of owner-requested add-ons to the original contract.

James Construction has been awarded additional work based on client satisfaction with this project.
