This project will consist of 5 city blocks of Specialty Retail and Extreme Value Retail vendors and would be the largest Urban Marketplace in the country.

Serving as the CM on this project James Construction prepared the initial pro-forma construction estimates based on our 33 years of construction knowledge and captured cost data, and plans and concepts for the Produce Terminal Marketplace prepared by Pfaffmann + Associates architects along with their consultants.

This affiliation augments our long-standing commitment to maintain the highest quality professional standards of the construction industry. Craig Stevenson, DBIA Professionals, proudly serves on the Innovation Committee and Federal Sector Committee for the DBIA.

The Design-Build Institute of America is the only organization that defines, teaches and promotes best practices in design-build. Design-build is an integrated approach that delivers design and construction services under one contract with a single point of responsibility. Owners select design-build to achieve best value while meeting schedule, cost and quality goals. DBIA represents the entire design and construction industry. As an institute, its primary objective is to provide education, training, networking and support to all players involved in the design and construction industry.

James Construction has four (4) personnel recognized as Designated Design-Build Professionals by the Design-Build Institute of America

dbia_logoJames Construction proudly announces that Craig E. Stevenson, Jamie A. Stevenson, David S. Kmonk II, and Sean Hreha have been recognized as Designated Design-Build Professionals by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).

DBIA offers certification in design-build project delivery, its program educates owners as well as designers and builders on team-centered approaches to design and construction. Owners want successfully executed design-build projects and are looking for a demonstration of both relevant continuing education and experience  both of which can be gained through DBIA certification.

The Designated Design-Build Professional certification program provides the only measureable standard by which to judge “Design-build done right.” “Design-build done right” requires more than a good contract and appropriate risk allocation. Everyone from the owner to the subcontractors must understand the process, the expectations and fully engage in the collaborative process. The growing number of both Associate DBIA designees and DBIA Professional designees attest to the value local, state and federal governments see in educating their staffs in DBIA best practices. The Designated Design-Build Professional certification program has grown exponentially over the past ten years, and not surprisingly as it mirrors the expansion of design-build itself.

James Construction has extensive experience in design-build project delivery and is among a few certified professionals in Western Pennsylvania.
