James was founded in 1981 as a general construction company
headquartered in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. James provides
general construction and related services for the Government,
Cultural/Preservation, Education, Healthcare, Office/Commercial,
Retail, Sports/Entertainment, and Transportation markets.
Construction related services include Management
Contracting (MC), Construction Management (CM) Agency
CM and At-Risk CM, Design-Manage-Construction (DMC),
Design-Build (DB), General Contracting (GC), Project
Management (PM), and Program Management processes
required to ensure the most effective attainment of
the clients project goals. James utilizes cost and
schedule controls which provide for accuracy through
analytical systems.
James was established and grown from hard work with
little resources. James is managed and controlled
by its President, Sandra M. Stevenson, who currently
maintains a 100% stock ownership position.
James Construction is certified as a Woman-Owned
Business with the Allegheny County MBE/WBE/DBE Certification
Program, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania- Department
of General Services, and National Women Business Owners
Corporation. James is certified by the U.S. Small
Business Administration as a socially and economically
disadvantaged firm under the 8(a) program.
James has approximately 25-30 full time employees.
The firm has successfully completed turnkey construction
projects over $3 million per project.
