Our Team

President:        Sandra M. Stevenson

Sandra has 30 years of construction experience as the sole owner and operator of James Construction.  Responsible for the day-to-day management of James Construction, Sandra has expanded this company from just 3 employees in 1981 to its current staff of over 75 employees.  Sandra has been responsible for implementing and chairing one of the most aggressive, award-winning safety committees in the construction industry. Thanks to her diligent efforts and those of James' safety committee, James has been recertified by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Pennsylvania State Certification Safety Program every year without exception since joining the PennSafe program in 2004.

Sandra’s experience working with many different government agencies and handling large and small scope projects has facilitated a smooth, cooperative interface between internal company departments and between James Construction, its clients, design firms, suppliers, and subcontractors.  Sandra’s experience and guidance have enabled James Construction to become a very successful, on time and on budget contractor for all of its clients. 

 

Secretary/Treasurer:     James W. Stevenson

Mr. Stevenson coordinates financial planning, procurement, and investment of funds for James Construction and acts as consultant in all business related activities. He combines over 35 years of general construction design, management and administration experience with an Executive MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Stevenson provides James Construction with a solid foundation in sound business practice and extensive knowledge of the construction industry.

 

Vice President of Operations:   Craig E. Stevenson

Mr. Stevenson is responsible for overall planning and operations at James Construction, including the implementation and maintenance of corporate policies, and the management of sales and marketing teams, information systems and daily operations of the construction business.

Mr. Stevenson holds an MBA and an MS in Management of Information Systems from the Graduate School of Business at Duquesne University and has been actively involved in the construction industry for over 20 years, He has LEED Professional Accreditation, Designated Design-Build Professional™ Accreditation, and USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certification.

James is proud to have many USGBC, LEED-Accredited Professionals and  DBIA,Designated Design-Build Professionals™ on staff.  All of our Project Managers, Project Superintendents, Safety Managers and Quality Control Managers have completed the Corps of Engineers Training Course: Construction Quality Management for Contractors.
